Being a connected part of the aviation community is incredibly important to us. It allows us to keep in touch with our colleagues and friends, as well as give back to the aviation industry through sponsorship of local and regional events and training/speaking engagements.
A particular focus for Awesome Aviation is aerobatics. We love the cutting edge of aerobatics as it creates great “Wow!” moments. It is a highly effective brand awareness platform and it taps into a really cool and exciting side of aviation.
Enter the Extra NG aircraft! The Extra NG was unveiled at Oshkosh in July 2019 as a new, all composite, technically advanced and innovative aircraft type. The Awesome Extra NG VH-XEO, serial no NG007, is the first of this type to be imported into Australia, and arrived in September 2020. The first public viewing took place at the Royal Aero Club’s Open day on 3rd October 2020 at Jandakot Airport, Western Australia where it sparked great interest. The Awesome Extra NG has been flown to various fly-in’s, aviation events and aerobatic competitions throughout Western Australia.
We are very proud to have sponsored Mark Jefferies once again, one of the world’s most accomplished air show performers and many times British aerobatic champion, to fly in an awe-inspiring aerobatic display at the Australian International Airshow at Avalon in 2023. The event is held every two years and has an attendance of over 200,000 people on the public days.
We previously sponsored Mark to display at the AIA in 2013 and due to its success we sponsored him to fly again in 2015, along with Tom Cassells, a top placing Brit in the World Aerobatic Championships and European Aerobatic Championships, as the Awesome Global Stars Aerobatic team.
In 2023 Mark flew the Awesome Extra NG as part of the Awesome Global Stars team, performing a spectacular aerobatic display, filling the skies with smoke, noise and stunning aerial antics. The sold-out event was hugely successful and we were very proud to have been a sponsor.
Awesome Global Stars strives to capture the heartbeat of its audience!
A feather in our cap was when we were asked to perform at the City of Perth’s Australia Day BP Skyworks Airshow in 2013 and again in 2014. The 2014 Skyworks air show had an estimated 250,000 people in attendance and it was a privilege to entertain the people of our home city.
